Bankview is always brought up as one of the oldest communities in Calgary and it started from when William Nimmons purchased the land in 1882 and his purpose for the purchase was for farming and ranching. He started from 3-D Bar Ranch moving towards a sandstone quarry and the Mount Royal theater. 

William Nimmons residence is a historic piece of Calgary and currently being used as Heritage building

During the economic boom is 1900 William Nimmons divided up the land and sold it to new residents that were moving into Calgary and wanted to settle in Bankview. By 1908 all the land that was left was purchased by the City of Calgary. 

Bankview located in the SW quadrant of Calgary and very close to the community of Beltline where you can find more high end apartments and make sure to have a look at the penthouses that have amazing views of Downtown and the Calgary Tower. Many investors have rental properties as well in the community
